For five decades, The Roanoke Valley Speech and
Hearing Center, across from Towers Mall on Colonial Avenue, has been helping
people of all ages develop their communication skills so they can better relate
to the world around them. Our speech-language professionals and hearing
professionals do evaluations that include a case history, an examination of
speech mechanisms, an assessment of speech and language skills and hearing
testing. Our up-to-date training and state-of-the-art equipment are here to
help any person with hearing and/or speech disorders, including our mobile unit
for on-site industrial hearing conservation services. Please see "Services" and our "Mobile
Testing Unit"
More than 15 million Americans suffer impairment or loss of hearing. Our goal
is to help our clients with hearing impairments make the most of their
remaining hearing. For persons without a hearing problem, we emphasize protecting
and preserving good hearing. For persons needing hearing aids, we offer a large
variety of hearing aids, and we are here when you need adjustments, parts, and
fittings.
We also offer consultation on hearing protection and on-site industrial and school
hearing tests with the Center's mobile unit. The Center is a not-for-profit
community service organization approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a
501(c)(3) organization; contributions to the Roanoke Valley Speech and Hearing
Center are deductible for income tax purposes.
