Roanoke Valley Speech & Hearing Center
is a non-profit community service organization approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3) organization. Established in 1959 by the Cosmopolitan Club of Roanoke, we are supported by fees for services, grants, donations, and the United Way. Contributions to the Roanoke Valley Speech and Hearing Center are deductible for income tax purposes. You may make contributions directly or through the United Way.
Our hours of operation are Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to Noon.
Our doctoral level, ASHA certified and state licensed Audiologists provide hearing services for individuals of all ages. For individuals without hearing concerns, we emphasize protecting and preserving good hearing.
Our ASHA certified and state licensed Speech Language Pathologists evaluate, identify, and treat individuals of all ages with communication disorders, delays, and disabilities. Funding from the United Way provides support for our speech-language pathology program. These funds are allocated to help support those patients/caregivers who are not able to afford speech-language therapy.
The Center's Mobile Unit travels to conduct on-site industrial hearing conservation services for companies with loud noise environments in order to meet OSHA standards. We also offer consultation on hearing protection and on-site industrial and school hearing tests with the Mobile Unit.
